undertaker, and the chief mourner. Scrooge signed it: and Scrooge's
name was good upon 'Change, for anything he chose to put his hand to.
Old Marley was as dead as a door-nail. There is no doubt that Marley
was dead. This must be distinctly understood, or nothing wonderful can
come of the story I am going to relate...

good old city knew. And it was always said of him, that he knew how to
